We were lucky enough to see our school owlet, Wisey, at Blakesley Hall yesterday.
If you would like to visit him over the six weeks, you can find him in the meeting room.

The Big Hoot Launch 2015

The pupils in the Big Hoot after school club had an amazing day yesterday at the official launch of The Big Hoot 2015.

The children were invited to attend the launch as VIP guests.  This special invite was given to the pupils by the school coordinators of the Big Hoot in recognition of the hard work, effort and time that they put into the project.

The open top bus drove us to the special event at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

After the exciting bus ride into the city, the children entered the official launch to take part in a range of activities, and to listen to the special speeches from those involved in the project.

Owl fun- of course!

Busy creating more fabulous artwork.

We were thrilled to see Wisey on the big screen along with the other schools owlets.

We were also treated to an owl display.

Once the launch was officially declared, we were able to view the parliament of owls who will live at the BMAG for the next ten weeks.

After an exciting morning of interviews and photos with the press, our VIP guests were looking forward to the ride back to school. Their favourite part of the ride was going underneath the dark tunnels.

What a super end to this special project!
Each pupil in school has been involved in The Big Hoot. Therefore, you should all feel very proud of such a wonderful achievement. Please try to visit Wisey the owl, who can be found at Blakesley Hall, over the Summer holidays.

If you would like to visit the owlets from other school, you can find the trail map here.

More sneak peeks

The children have been hard at work decorating Wisey today and we are very impressed with how the decorating is coming along. He now has some feathers covering his wings and poppies growing on his back.

Unfortunately, Wisey will be leaving us on Tuesday evening to fly to a new temporary home so that he can meet thousands of visitors. Make sure that you come to see the completed Wisey before he says good bye.

After we ate lunch, it was time to continue our tour around the zoo.

Where are the elephants?
We couldn't believe how tall the giraffes actually were.
The baby elephant was very cute.

The children were very excited when they eventually spotted some real owls.
We looked at the patterns and features on each owl to help us with more ideas to include on our own owlet.
